Spawforths have successfully secured outline planning permission for Harworth Estates, the property arm of UK COAL.

The permission allows redevelopment of the Harworth Colliery site creating upto 1,000 new homes; 825,000 sq ft of industrial and warehouse space; a retail unit of 22,000 sq ft; whilst retaining 20 acres of woodland and public open space. 

The proposals, supported by masterplans and an Environmental Statement, were granted planning permission by Bassetlaw District Council’s Planning Committee in December 2010.
