Louth Canal Wind Energy Scheme
Spawforths appeared as an expert planning witness at a planning inquiry on behalf of Partnerships for Renewables (PFR) for this wind energy scheme. The scheme involved three wind turbines each of a maximum height of 113.5m and with the capacity to generate up to 2.5MW of energy. We provided planning evidence on the Government’s energy policies; national and local planning policy particularly in respect of heritage assets, landscape and visual impact, noise and residential amenity. Our evidence also summarised a public benefits package and addressed third party concerns relating to tourism, aviation, the health and safety effects of wind turbines, shadow flicker and tranquillity. We also worked with East Lindsey District Council to prepare and agree a Statement of Common Ground.
