Introduction
Spawforths' planning team is the largest in the region and comprises a wide range of creative and talented town planners with a broad cross section of expertise in most fields of planning. The directors, associate directors and associates who lead this team are listed below:

David Rolinson, BA (Hons), Dip PEL, MRTPI, is a Chartered Town Planner and Planning and Regeneration Director at Spawforths and has 20 years public and private sector experience. He is also Deputy Chairman of Spawforths where he has worked since its formation in 1988. David predominantly advises Corporate Developer and Housebuilder Clients such as Langtree Group Plc, Rosemound, George Wimpey, Bellway, and Barratts in urban regeneration, renewal, masterplanning and Development Plan issues. Some of his current projects include: a new sustainable community at the site of the former Liverpool Garden Festival to enable the creation of a new iconic urban park; A new Rugby League Stadium for St Helens enabled by a new major Superstore and the creation of an opportunity for expansion of St Helens Town Centre; a regionallly significant rail linked warehouse and distribution park at Crewe; and the planned development of a sustainable, mixed-use urban extension to Deeside in Wales.

Paul Bedwell BA Dip TRP MRTPI , is Director of Major Projects at Spawforths with 18 years public and private sector experience. His current projects include: the planned development of a sustainable, mixed-use urban extension to Pontefract for UK COAL at the Former Prince of Wales Colliery; advocacy to support development of Rossington Ecotown, Near Doncaster in South Yorkshire; promotion of B1, B2 and B8 development at Wynyard Park - a strategic employment site centred around the former Samsung Plant on Teesside; development of the first zero carbon community in the Yorkshire and Humber region at the Former Brodsworth Colliery for Renaissance South Yorkshire; and supporting the redevelopment of sites for UK COAL, Woodford Land and Gleeson Regeneration. Paul is on the Judging Panel for the Academy of Sustainable Communities' Creating the Future Awards 2008 and is an Executive Member of Sheffield Civic Trust.

Andy Cockett BA(Hons), BTP, MRTPI, is a Chartered Town Planner and Associate at Spawforths He is responsible for the project management of a varied portfolio of planning projects including many of the company’s largest projects including major regeneration and development projects for the public and private sectors. Andy is responsible for the preparation of development appraisals, coordination of Environmental Assessments, masterplanning, planning applications and appeals. Currently working on the regeneration of the former Liverpool Festival Gardens site, St Helens sub regional retail and leisure park, and Basford West Regional Investment Site, Crewe. He has nine years experience, with six years in the public sector working for City of York Council and Salford City Council. He has extensive experience in public consultation exercises in relation to major development schemes.

Yvonne Naylor BSc(Hons), MRTPI, is a Chartered Town Planner and is an Associate at Spawforths. Yvonne has over 10 years experience of both the private sector development planning profession. She is currently providing advice to a range of clients including landowners and national and regional house builders on site progression and potential as well as promoting a range of sites through development plan reviews across the north of England. Yvonne’s current project work at Spawforths includes a large mixed use development at the former Bombardier Carriage Works in Doncaster for Woodford Group, progression of a Reserved Matters submission for circa 3 million sq ft of office development in the North East and the progression of various sites for a range of house builders including George Wimpey, Shepherd Homes and Barratts.
