Spawforths has submitted a significant outline planning application with an environmental statement to Bassetlaw District Council for the redevelopment of the colliery site. The proposals include the erection of up to 996 residential units; 2,044 square meters of retail space; and 76,645square meters employment space.
The proposals are viability led and will bring significant regeneration benefits to the settlement and wider area. The proposals will restore former colliery land, which whilst being located in the centre of Harworth Bircotes are currently vacant and underused.
