Summary
Spawforths acted as part of the Langtree Plc/Artisan team selected by Bradford City Regeneration following an international design competition for the redevelopment of the Bradford Odeon Site.
Following an iterative design process, the scheme received the support of English Heritage and the Council approved the proposals for Victoria Place in October 2009 subject to a S106 Agreement.
The scheme, which comprises a 98 bed hotel, studios and apartment, cafés, restaurants, offices and a new public square, is crucial in the regeneration of Bradford and will be an important landmark scheme for the city. Redevelopment of this site in the City Centre Conservation Area is also key to the implementation of the Bradford Masterplan and associated proposals to transform the city.
