Planning approval for mixed use development at Blackheath, Dudley

Blackheath Spawforths

Outline planning permission for a mixed use scheme of up to 209 dwellings and 5241m² employment space prepared by Spawforths was approved by Dudley Council’s planning committee on the 19th September 2016.

Working on behalf of Langtree Property Partners, Spawforths have successfully resolved a number technical issues associated with the former Invensys site at Excelsior Industrial Estate, Blackheath, Dudley, which will now facilitate redevelopment of this site, which is within an important regeneration corridor in the Borough.  Spawforths are currently in ongoing discussions with the Council to agree the S106 Agreement and use the Vacant Building Credit to ensure that the affordable housing offer reflects the scale of existing vacant buildings that are currently on site.  Following completion of the S106 Agreement the site will be actively marketed to the housebuilding industry.
