Spawforths Shortlisted for Best Residential Planning Practice in Yorkshire

Spawforths are on a short list of 3 for the Best Planning Practice in Yorkshire at the Yorkshire Residential Property Awards 2017.

Our submission demonstrated how Spawforths are progressing over 50,000 dwellings through the planning system on behalf of Volume and Regional Housebuilders; Registered Providers; SMEs; Regeneration specialists; Land Traders and Landed Estates.

Our submission outlined our success in securing residential and mixed use allocations through the Development Plan system. These include the largest housing allocations in Wakefield (City Field - 2500 dwellings) and Selby (Olympia Park - 900 dwellings) as well as significant draft allocations in Barnsley (Barnsley West – 1700 dwellings), and Kirklees (South Dewsbury - 4000 dwellings).

Our recent appeal successes were highlighted within our submission which include landmark five year land supply decisions in Leeds (Miller Homes – Boston Spa) and Doncaster (Faith Homes – Dunsville, Hatfield); as well as residential development of urban greenspace in Kirklees (Strata Homes – Cleckheaton).

We outlined how Spawforths are at the forefront of planning for housing innovation and advise Legal & General on their modular housing concept. We champion new forms of housing delivery through our advice to Public Sector Housing Delivery Vehicles (e.g. Bridge Homes) and we add value to Registered Providers in capacity building to establish their land funnel.

The winner of the Best Planning Practice category will be announced on the 12th October 2017 at Bowcliffe Hall.
