Basford West, Crewe Commercial Park, Crewe

The Basford West strategic site is 52 hectares in extent. It was formerly open agricultural land however the site is currently allocated as a Regional and Strategic Employment site.

Spawforths secured planning permission for a residential led mixed use scheme in addition to an outline planning consent for employment development, on behalf of Goodman. Spawforths also advised Goodman on the implications of a proposed HS2 Depot on their land holding, which was subsequently re-located to an alternative site.

The residential and mixed uses cross enabled the delivery of just over 1 million sq ft of employment space along with a contribution to Jack Mills Way, a £7 million road, which runs through this strategic development site,  a £3.2million contribution to the Crewe Link Green Road, a £2.5 million contribution towards A500/J16 corridor improvements, along with other contributions.

Working for a new number of clients across the site, Goodman, Panattoni and PLP, Spawforths have secured detailed consent for employment space within four distinct plots, varying in sizes, which are now being constructed.
